Inspired my RacinBob’s !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! post (and all the rally posts of late) I’ve been thinking....... Is there any car that has never been rallied?
We see photos of Pacers, Rolls Royces, and station wagons in the dirt participating in a rally stage or a rallycross, so..
How about yours? Is there a car we all own that has never rallied?
Search, find, and share images of your make/model in the dirt (or snow, since they rallycross there, too).

All three of mine made the list.

If desert racing counts, then yes. If not, probably not, as the 4Runner is a bit top heavy.

Dakar is rally + Baja is rally = 4Runner is rally enough for this post.

My others, like Subarus, Sentra SE-R, etc. are all too obvious.

It’s not rallying in this picture and it is my car, but it is dirty after much sideways-on-gravel action.

I actually have a pic on my computer of my generation racing, but I’m not on it.

Current car:
Previous car:
I can’t find the first car I drove, though. (2003 Ford Focus sedan. They’re all hatchbacks) I also can’t find my parents’ cars. (2014 Ford Explorer and 2009 Kia Spectra sedan) Of course, if we’re going by body style, the Mustang would need to be a convertible... So maybe it’s just my Escort.

There’s a Diesel Forester used as a rally vehicle in Australia. It’s also been used as a
Safari Rally
vehicle.
The Forester has also done Dakar, known as the Subaru Elaion.

I can’t find any rallying Kia Optima or Nissan Versa!
So I only have this one.

From the cars that I have owned I’m pretty sure that every one has been rallied with expect the ‘63 Chrysler Newport and ‘84 Buick Electra Wagon (too slow for anything that isn’t timed with a calendar).
My current daily driver did plenty. It lifts the rear tires eagerly with the stock suspension too.
Even my Packard’s model was used in Carrera Panamerica. You can see one wearing 8 ball livery in this picture. There’s one interesting import car hiding in the picture too.

This is another one of those “I don’t care how redneck this makes me” statements.
That thing is fucking awesome.

If can I go in the direction I’m planning with my current project this will be me

Found the xB:
No luck finding the ‘64 c10, but I found this truck that I’d *like* to take rallying.

I love the hell out of this. I want to know more about this car.

Holy shit I’ve never seen this before but it’s cool. AWD LS2 Monaro (GTO)
Kinja isn’t letting me insert the pictures.

Because rally homologation car. Mazda 323 GTX.

It was apparently built and run by Jim Morris Racing, I managed to find this onboard footage of it from 2009:

Rare proof that someone once raced a Corvette at a drag strip with a Milan.
(spoiler alert- he lost)

That’s awesome. I need to go to that rally school in Austin next time I’m down there.

So that’s what happens when the rallycross orgainizers do when they forget the cones..
and the dirt.

IT’S THE ONLY EVIDENCE ANYONE EVER RACED A MILAN EVER
ok one or two other drag videos, this was the funniest tho. But seriously, people don’t race these things at all.

Do you mean real, factory rally version?
Or me doing rally-like stuff in my own car?
![]() 01/07/2016 at 12:08 |

I was thinking organized competition. It can be factory/privateer/amateur rally stage/snow rallycross/rallycross, etc..

If you search “e39 rally car” you just get pictures of them parked on dirt.

Everyone really, really like’s Mercury Jill.
A buddy of mine was working on their advertising and met her at one of the photo shoots. I wasn’t on that shoot unfortunately. Well, for the sake of my marriage, maybe it’s good I wasn’t.

Let’s see, there is my 2011 F-150 EcoBoost that did the Baja 1000.
My 2007 STi which did WRC and Rally America.
I’m sure my 2002 GMC Sierra had it’s name stuck on a tube framed Baja 1000 Trophy Truck but I can’t find any pictures. My wife has a 2013 Ford Escape and I can’t find any evidence of a rally, desert racer version of that. It wouldn’t surprise me if there was, but I just can’t find anything.

Shockingly tough to find C6 Z06 rally content. As far as I can tell, it has only been attempted once, with disastrous and predictable results.

Not mine, but just like my daily driver. It does great handbrake turns in the snow in front of my house everyday at lunch.....

Good lord, their pace notes are absolute shit

It is shockingly hard to find a rallying Subaru Outback. Doubly so for the XT

I got diven to my first rally stage as course worker in another course worker’s escort w/hellas. It was fun he/his wife didn’t go slow.
![]() 01/08/2016 at 12:59 |

Will that jump be jumped in 2016?...in the northeast region?
![]() 01/08/2016 at 13:01 |

Yes. Yes it will

Both cars I’ve owned have brothers that have been rallied in the WRC.

Well, looks like I’m a little late to this party. Mine doesn’t go rallying, it supports those that do:
So yeah, if anyone’s looking for a support vehicle and we can coordinate a time to do it, let me know!

I’ll add ours— though just SCCA RallyX— but it *is* technically rare… a *stock* ‘05 WRX (though stuff is slowly corroding away and won’t technically be stock too much longer…).

The entire stage was an arguement between the three of them.
